Power Stage Small Signal Modelling

The small signal model model for any power stage is governed by many parameters such as the topology used, component parasitic elements and whether current-mode or voltage-mode control is used.

At Converter Technology we use a small-signal averaged state-space modelling approach which can predict complex power stage behaviour in a relatively straightforward manner.

These small signal models can be used to calculate the small signal frequency response of the power stage in continuous or dis-continuous conduction mode.
